Work Programme

The structure of the work programme has been built up to get a logical and efficient management of the project and maximize the impact to the relevant target groups for the action.

The project will start to get all partners on a common basis regarding knowledge of all the partners. Work package 2 (WP) “Building of knowledge” will include a common training seminar and activities to document and analyze the situation in the participating countries. The most important outcome of this WP is the definition of the most important target groups in each country and the development of a targeted market development strategy.

Networking is the content of WP 3. Networking is an important part of the project to get target groups and important stakeholders on different levels connected to the project and to each other. On the European level the main objective is to get a long-term partnership with all the partners, on the local and regional level new networks will be set up (or already existing ones strengthened) for the implementation of the project.

In WP 4 a feasibility study regarding supply and integration of pre-treated biogas into the fuel chain will be done in each country to investigate the possibilities to use this for car fuel. For the less advanced countries with small or no biogas infrastructure the focus will be on planning for supply and distribution of gas fuel and how to build up an infrastructure. The more advanced countries will transfer knowledge to the less advanced and they will also continue to develop the supply and distribution system and the integration of biogas into gas grids.

The main work package, WP 5 “Market development for gas driven vehicles” is also built on the knowledge from WP 2 & 3. All partners will implement a common set of tasks and in addition a number of country specific tasks will be added. The main focus is on cars and lighter transport vehicles and not heavy busses and trucks – this means in particular fleets operating in a regional context (taxis, delivery services, companies, municipalities, etc.) Direct meetings, specially adopted training courses and events will be the most efficient way to make an impact on the local and regional market. In addition, feasibility studies and economic evaluations for switching car fleets to gas will be carried out and specific support will be given during the purchasing process to support concrete implementation.

The results  will be disseminated to the other partners using efficient communication tools such as the project website, e-newsletters, project meetings and training seminars (WP 6 and WP 7). For external communication a number of regional addressed events will be carried out. To reach other target groups and actors the broad network of the partners will be used and especially, results will be spread to networks like EnR, UBC, Energie-Cites, FEDERENE. The EC communication tools ManagEnergy and Sustainable Energy Campaign will be used for European wide dissemination. Energy agencies all over Europe will be specially addressed and invited to take part in the training seminars at the end of the project and in the regional networks.

A steering group of WP leaders together with the coordinator will manage the project throughout the project. Regularly meetings and contacts with partners will secure a high quality management and a good working climate within the project.
