Project Consortium

The MADEGASCAR consortium of 15 partners from 10 countries ensures that the results from the project will be widely disseminated and implemented in Europe. More experienced partners will transfer knowledge to less advanced regions within the established regional and European networks. A steering group of WP leaders together with the coordinator will manage the project throughout the project.

Skåne Energy Agency (Coordinator)

Skåne Energy Agency is a unit within the Association of Local Authorities in Skåne with the purpose to work for efficient use of energy and the increased use of renewable energy in the region of Skåne (Scania).

The work of the Energy Agency is directed towards all the inhabitants and all the organisations of the region, from the heaviest industrial companies to the private citizen. We are independent and often take the role of being initiators and instigators – always with the goal of decreasing the environmental stress.

Graz Energy Agency (GEA)

Graz Energy Agency (GEA) started its operation as a limited company in the year 1998. The agency has currently a staff of 11 highly qualified people. Core acitivity of Graz Energy Agency is the sustainable energy supply, the promotion of energy efficiency and renewable energy as well as alternative fuels and energy efficient mobility. Especially the market development and awareness raising acitivites for alternative fuels and vehicles together with advice for private and public fleet managers as well as fleet owners respresent important activities. GEA can also be percieved as a mediator and multiplicator in this area to inform and advice politicians, administration as well as target groups in a common and efficient manner.

The San Valero Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 1953 being the “technical training” its main intervention ambit in collaboration with the business world. It is pioner in being quality-certified in ISO 9002 and in environment (ISO 14000). It is the promotor of the first private University in its Region (Aragón –Spain).

Berliner Energieagentur GmbH

The Berliner Energieagentur GmbH (BEA), founded in 1992 by the State of Berlin, is an enterprise in the sense of a Public-Private-Partnership and has 4 share holders (State of Berlin, federal owned bank KfW and the utilities Vattenfall Europe and GASAG). The BEA is a consulting firm, with the principal subjects of rational use of energy, promotion of combined heat and power systems, and use of renewable energies.

The BEA is located in Berlin and has currently a staff of about 45 persons.

The BEA is member of the European Network of Energy Agencies FEDARENE. It also keeps close co-operation with other regional Energy Agencies and is associated to the Society of Regional Energy Agencies of Germany called “Verein der Energieagenturen Deutschlands” (EAD e. V.).

Energy agency of Podravje – Institution for sustainable energy use - EnergaP

Local energy agency was established in June 2006 and is co-financed by European Commission Programme Intelligent Energy Europe. EnergaP covers the area of Municipality of Maribor and 15 smaller municipalities in Podravje region together around 180.000 inhabitants. We support the introduction of good energy management practices, advocate the concept of sustainability, provide information and guidance, and offer a number of other local services based on specific local energy needs. We operate impartially on both energy demand and supply issues and reflect the local situations, economic and social circumstances and the geographical size of the relevant local area.
EnergaP has 5 employees and is located in Maribor, second the biggest town in Slovenia.

The Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden Ltd. is working in commission of the Swedish Energy Agency. Our task is to develop environmentally friendly and efficient energy systems on a regional level, by increasing the use of renewable energy and by gaining a more rational use of energy. This work also gives positive effects on the labour market and the regional finances.
 
Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden Ltd is a regional centre for information and development and a regional resource in the sphere of energy. The aim is to have an influence on production, distribution and use of energy for heating, transportation, lighting and motor operation. We work with energy education on all levels and with co-ordination and education for the local energy advisers. Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden Ltd direct towards energy and environmental issues both for companies and for municipalities. We collaborate with the college in Kalmar, the university of Växjö and the university of Linköping by supporting and taking part in research and development in the energy field.
 
We are working in co-operation with a wide range of users of energy on a regional, national and international level. In Sweden we co-operate with the other regional energy agencies by the organization FSEK, on international level the co-operation take place by FEDARENE.

Institute for Renewable Energy

The Institute for Renewable Energy was established in 2001 by a group of experts of the then European Centre for Renewable Energy (EC BREC/IBMER). The creation of the Institute aimed at closer combination of scientific, research, political and strategic activities pursued by EC BREC with the need to develop the renewable energy market in Poland.
 
Main tasks of the Institute are:

  • developing the theory and improving the practice as well as promoting implementation of the local dispersed energy sector based on utilisation of renewable energy resources;
  • introducing on the energy market innovative products increasing economic effectiveness of utilisation of renewable energy sources;
  • supporting the implementation of economically optimised projects in utilisation of wind and solar energy, and in production and utilisation of biogas and biomass.

The Lithuanian Energy Institute is a state scientific organization, created for carrying out the long-term scientific research projects important for Lithuanian economy, culture and international cooperation.The main activities of the Institute are R&D activities.

Steirische Gas-Wärme – a subsidiary of Energie Steiermark - was founded in 1956 (as Steirische Ferngas) to guarantee the natural gas supply for Styrian industrial companies.

Steirische Gas-Wärme GmbH is an innovative energy service company with a great number of services and competence areas. Steirische Gas-Wärme holds share in 25 holdings, 9 are in Austria and 16 in South East Europe (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia). The services and products offered by Steirische Gas-Wärme, apart from natural gas and district heating, are delivery of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) and services such as contracting and renewable energies. Steirische Gas-Wärme co-operates with industrial- and research partners in the area of biogas (biomethan) and biomass, is involved in projects for the use of fuel cells- and micro gas turbines and is intensively commited to the area of natural gas as an alternative fuel (CNG – compressed natural gas).
