AustriaNews160th compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station opened in AustriaNiki Berlakovich, Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, opened the 160th gas filling station in Austria on 11. November 2009 in the context of a CNG-symposium in Vienna. He was joined by the Madegascar team. Click here to get more information. The objective of the gas industry is the establishment of a total of 200 public gas filling stations until 2010. In order to reach this goal a partnership of EAA Erdgas mobil, which acts as planner, installer and operator of CNG filling stations, with the klima:aktiv mobil programme of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management was concluded. Coca-Cola Austria to double it´s CNG fleetThe company announced to extend the number of CNG vehicles from currently 99 to 200 in the near future. This would mean that 40% of all vehicles in the company´s fleet will be natural gas vehicles (NGVs). Currently Coca-Cola Austria uses nine different NGV models, ranging from delivery VANs to limousines. New natural gas vehicle modelsThe range of natural gas vehicles offered by major car manufacturers is increasing and includes diverse vehicle categories ranging from compact cars to spacious transporters. New 2009 models include the 150 horsepower Volkswagen Passat TSI EcoFuel, the spacious Caddy Maxi EcoFuel and the brand new Fiat Punto Evo Natural Power.
